Little Black Dress

The little black dress has been a long time staple of a woman's closet so it is only natural that brides who love their bridesmaids would choose a dress we most definitely will wear again. In the movie 27 Dresses Katherine Heigls character is bouncing from wedding to wedding both brides tell her "if you get the dress hemmed you can wear it again." Let's be real, us ladies are not going to go to a seamstress and have it hemmed. Short dresses for weddings are very much in style; both weddings I was in this year both brides were kind enough to pick knee length dark colored dresses, one of which I wore to my high school reunion, the other was a dark purple frock I plan on wearing to a New Years Eve party. Thank you to both brides for a dress that will be in my closet for a while and not left in a hotel room or shipped off to Goodwill. Don't get me wrong I have had some beautiful bridesmaids dresses in the past but they were definitely one time wears no matter how much I loved them. This is just a little food for thought when you head down to the bridal boutique to pick out dresses for the girls you cherish the most.
